    主讲人介绍

Dr Lu is Associate Professor in the Department of Real Estate and Construction, Faculty of Architecture, at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He is also the Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Architecture at HKU. He is the winner of HKU Outstanding Young Researcher Award 2014-15. He is also ranked as the 1% scholar by Clarivate Analytics (CA) Essential Science Indicators (ESI) since 2017.

His research is mainly focused on construction management with three clear directions: Construction informatics (BIM; smart construction); International construction (Competitiveness; corporate social responsibility); and Construction waste management. His research interests center on BIM and big data for smart construction. Working closely with other investigators and industrial partners, he has recently completed an Innovation Technology Fund (ITF) project examining how BIM and the Internet of Things (IoTs) can be applied to enhance prefabrication housing production in Hong Kong. His innovative concept, “i-Core,” supports smart construction and helped win him the prestigious Construction Industry Council Innovation Award 2015.

Dr Lu is also the Director of the iLab at HKUrbanLab, which is an urban big data hub housed on the 7th floor of the Knowles Building, HKU. iLab facilitates multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary urban big data collection, storage, analysis, and visualization to inform decision-making in urban development. It is a repository for urban big data from Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Urban Remote Sensing (URS), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and other sources. One of the interesting research projects in iLab is to develop semantically rich BIMs and position them in a broader scenario, i.e., GIS and City Information Modelling (CIM), for smart city development.
